“But there was something magical about it…. I had to admit, I felt better and happier when it was around.”
Shortly after the birth of our son, a good friend of mine gifted him the book “What Do You Do With An Idea?” A seasoned entrepreneur and highly driven individual himself, it was no idle baby gift in the traditional sense. It was purposeful.
“Have you ever read it?” he asked.
I shook my head.
“Then read it. Tonight. For him and for you.”
Following his instructions, we read it as a family that night as we were tucking him in prior to the customary four hour respite you’re granted with a newborn.
For those not familiar with the story, it revolves around a young child filled with the vigor of youthful creativity, who abandons his creation out of a combination of fear and doubt that his idea will be accepted. He finds excuses to justify this abandonment, yet the idea follows him along his path of life, as a leaf blows with the wind. Eventually, the child has the stark realization that the idea will not die and, contrary to his initial emotions, life is more fulfilling when the idea is close at hand, eager for growth and nurturance.
Seven years later, that book still features prominently on the shelf in his room. We read it on those random evenings when the title leaps from the shelf, seemingly begging for oxygen and the endless curiosity of the developing mind.
When we launched Karamojo nearly a decade ago, the response was overwhelmingly positive. We had serious momentum and plans for the future. But life intervened, and challenges both professional and personal claimed the driver's seat of life out of necessity - or so we thought. Because just like the child in the story, our idea refused to go away. And we felt better and happier when it was around.

Lastly, we want to say Thank You. Thank You for being such an integral part of this brand, this movement, from the beginning. We’re honored to have you on the journey, though the ride may not have been the smoothest.
But if the road was paved, where’s the adventure in that?
